Three Nation Trip in December 2011

Though in KL for 3 days I could only manage a quick hour's visit to the Petronas.
It was late in the night and thankfully the towers were glowing like sensuous icons to attract aliens.
I placed the camera on the ground and used the timer.

Atop the new Singapore landmark - Marina Bay Sands.  Once again hardly got anytime to see the city (what to see?).  But clearly its a nice and foreigner friendly place.

So here I am , about to land in Colombo.  I couldnt resist the thought if this is how Hanumanji would have seen the coastline :-) Anyway, the short time I was there in the Sri Lankan capital, it was clear that its a cleaner and healthier place.  The population is small but people appeared to be friendly to Indians (?).

The Indian ocean was a nice greenish blue but crystal clear.  But no bathers or swimmers.  What a far cry from Mumbai's beaches where we can find intrepid souls splashing around at all hours of the day.  And let us not even mention the water quality.

A busy street in Colombo.  Freshly painted building.  Charming green!

The Presiding Buddha of the Ganga Ramaya Temple. Pleasant place and extremely visitor friendly.  The best attraction of the place is of course the baby elephant whose stuffed daddy has a place of honour in the premises.  The baby though kept me rivetted for several minutes with its playful restlessness.
